In August 2007, the Bethel Scholarship Program was established. The goal is to provide funds to qualified, Christian youth who otherwise would not have the financial means to pursue a higher education. The applicants need to have demonstrated scholastic achievement, been active in their church’s youth program and have shown a deep faith in Christ.
A recipient of this scholarship must provide proof each semester to a member of the Scholarship Review Board in order to receive funding for the next semester. The Scholarship Review Board consists of three Romanians and two Americans.
Scholarship amounts each semester can range from $700-$1,000 depending on their level of scholastic achievement. ($700 each semester is adequate for tuition, lodging and food at an accredited university). In order to receive a scholarship, the student must be enrolled as a full time student.
In addition, to students receiving a scholarship for attending the university of their choosing in Romania, The Evergreen Foundation, through a partnership with Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky; also makes available a full scholarship each year for a qualified youth from Romania.
